With the introduction of the iPhone 15, the USB C port has made its way to Apple products. Using this port, it is now possible to directly charge AirPods and Apple Watch.
The USB-C ports in both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus support USB 2. While the port itself is a universal standard, USB 2 came into light way back in 2000 — topping out at a maximum transfer rate of 480 Mbits/s. It’s good, but nowhere remotely fast as the USB-C ports in Apple’s two most premium iPhones.
Using the USB C port on the iPhone instead of Lightning has many advantages, one of which is charging other devices with this port. Of course, now it is no longer possible to use iPhone accessories with a Lightning port. But Apple has solved this problem by releasing a USB-C dongle.
Currently, it is possible to charge the Apple Watch and Apple AirPods with the help of a USB C to USB C cable. Apple has also unveiled a new AirPods Pro charging case that can be charged with the iPhone 15. Macs can too. Charge AirPods and Apple Watch with a USB C port. This feature is new among Apple products. Because it was not possible to charge peripheral products with iPhones before.
This feature can be used when electricity is not available. It will also enable the use of common accessories. The iPhone 15 Pro model uses a USB 3 port that can provide a data transfer speed of 10 gigabytes per second.
